介绍:Chinese Business and Technology Association of Greater Seattle (CBTA) is a non-profit organization registered in the state of Washington. Its mission is to promote and support overseas Chinese business and technology development in the United States and China, through improvement in information exchange, promotion of business and technology cooperation, and establishment of a coherent platform integrating personnel, market and capital resources. The birth of this association fills a gap in the local Chinese community, and its success will give a great impetus to the mutual exchange in the fields of business and technology between China and Greater Seattle.
Originally proposed by 17 members of "The Silicon Valley and Seattle PhD and Entrepreneur Delegation to China", CBTA was founded with enthusiastic support from local community leaders and activists in the Greater Seattle Chinese community. During its preparatory process, CBTA held several sessions of various scales and themes, to explore the feasibility and define the purpose of CBTA.
In January 2002, after much planning and preparation, the first Board of Directors emerged out of serious recommendations and consultations, along with board chairperson and vice chairperson, the executive committee, president and vice presidents, and other members of the organization. Reporting to the Executive Committee are several specialty committee as well as regional representative offices in China.
This association's primary activities include organizing exchanges and visits of business and technology organizations, establishing and providing personnel and project databases in various specialties areas for both sides of the Pacific, working as the liaison and promoter in capital investments and business ventures for Chinese and American entrepreneurs, conducting a variety of forums for business pioneers and entrepreneurs to share experiences, among other things. As situations in China and the world are developing, additional activities will be incorporated into this association's agenda to further benefit overseas Chinese's business careers and Chinese and American economic development.
The rapid rise of Chinese economy and China's recent admission to the World Trade Organization give many overseas Chinese an unprecedented opportunity to take part in the historical Chinese social and economic transformation. The founding of this association makes it possible for us to do some real work to help many fellow Chinese American entrepreneurs to seize the great opportunities and make profound impact on the integration of Chinese economy into the world stage. We sincerely look for the great support from everyone in our communities, both in the United States and China. We do believe, with every members of the association working together, CBTA will assuredly succeed in achieving its goals.
