10 Boston Street, Seattle
介绍:One of the area's prettiest and most serene Thai restaurants, Orrapin has long been a mainstay in Queen Anne's mini International District of restaurants. Each of the two dining areas has a luxurious, subtly exotic feel, with high ceilings, ornately carved wood accent, and plenty of space between tables. Cool and warm colors in the decor are echoed in the flavors found on the longish menu, well-regarded for quality and freshness. Thai basil is a welcome addition to a number of dishes, and provides a particularly nice foil to the heat and meat in hot basil beef. Curries come in a half-dozen variations, including red, green, yellow, duck, Panang and country style. Adventuresome diners should try "shoo shee pla," salmon cooked in red curry with coconut milk and basil. Vegetarians, too, have plenty to choose from, including a veggie stir-fry featuring eggplant. On warm days, sit outside on the sidewalk patio and watch the locals strolling to and fro, lattes in hand, children and canines in tow. It's nice to finish your meal with a cocktail at the petite and atmospheric Orrapin Thai Bistro just around the corner. -- Ginny Morey
