1904 4th Ave, Seattle
介绍:Located kitty-corner from the Bon Marche in the former Dahlia Lounge, Toi turns traditional Thai decor on its head. The space is decorated in deep reds and, in place of portraits of the Thai king and queen and other artifacts, you'll find a minimalist space featuring calm, soothing slide projections of Buddha on the walls. It's especially popular with downtown urban professionals who are likely to be regulars for lunch or the after-hours scene. One result is that the lines on weekends can be especially long. Many patrons are there for the second-floor lounge, which features regular live entertainment Wednesday through Saturday and may stay open as late as midnight. The full bar on the main floor allows smoking.
Consider starting your meal with the Street Vendor's Satay, with your choice of prawns, beef, chicken or pork marinated with cumin, cilantro and coconut curry, skewered and then flame- seared. Continue with Mama's Heavenly Thai Beef Salad, slices of charbroiled steak over greens and topped with cilantro and Thai fish sauce. Or the seafood curry with mussels, prawns and scallops. -- J.T.
